Nicholas John Bouyouris

Niko “the Greek” Bouyouris, of Orlando Florida, passed away suddenly and way too soon, on May 2nd 2021 at the age of 48. To the very end, he was engaged to his true love, friend and soulmate Sara Allison Moore. He was born in the Chicago suburb of Joliet, Illinois and later moved to Orlando where he graduated from Mid Florida Tech. Niko has risen as an Icon in the Orlando hospitality industry. By 17 he had achieved Executive Chef for a hotel venue catering large extravagant buffets for events And cheated death from an electric shock that caused him to refocus his life to do what he was passionate about. Since 2000, he took great pride in the leading the crew at Cheers on I-Drive that raised the sports bar to a legendary status that far exceeded the 1980 sitcom’s reputation in making family, friends and newcomers know that Cheers is a “home away from home” that so many testify to; ‘Niko was there for me when…’. Niko’s Greek heritage, enthusiasm for Chicago sports teams and love for Florida outdoors permeated his passion for life and ability to create an atmosphere where everyone around him felt included and welcome. Fishing, camping, boats and the Bears always with great food and drink and good friends…always! Well except as he was stealing away with his fiancé, Sara of course. Niko was constantly attempting to balance ‘work’ and family as they crossed over. On the day he passed “the dream team”, speaking of his brother Yiannis, were preparing a grand Greek Easter celebration for family and he was, “happier than he had ever been”. Niko died as he lived blessing those close and pouring his life out for others with unique surprises. Survived by his mother Barbara Bouyouris (Myers) of Orlando; father Kostas Bouyouris and Aunt Eva Bouyouris both of Greece. Niko’s siblings: Bill Myers (Cindy), Caryn Myers, Tom Myers, Gary Myers and Yiannis Bouyouris-Myers (Patricia Reid). Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 11, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Baldwin-Fairchild 4901 S.
